Anyway. So class this morning wasn't terrible. We watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail as an example of antiplot. Pretty sweet.
Then I met with my academic advisor, who I still dislike intensely. But I sort of have my schedule hammered out. In the fall, I'm taking:
- - History of Motion Pictures
- Film Theory and Criticism I
- Foundations of Production
- Communication (fucking gen. ed.)
- Meso American Art
- American Art
Then in the Spring, I've got:
- - Writing for Film/TV
- Film History II
- The Film Producer
- Italian Renaissance Art
- 20th Century Art
and either:
- 19th Century Art or
- American Film Artists (filmmaker to be announced)
That's when the day got interesting though. After I met with my advisor, I had paperwork to turn into the Film department office and an override form to get signed so I can take 18 credit hours. However, after getting the form signed, I had to take it to the general advising office, OASIS. At OASIS, I sat around for 15 minutes until I was helped, then I had to wait for an actual advisor to help me, because the student workers aren't qualified to make overrides. Anyway...so the advisor comes over to ask who signed off on my form -- I had no idea. She was a woman in the film office, gray hair, that's about all I knew. The advisor looked at me skeptically and she goes on to explain that "there's a short list of people qualified to sign off on these forms" and that she "didn't recognize the signature." At this point, I'm slightly dumbfounded, and definitely feel like I'm being accused of forging the form. The advisor leaves again and says she's going to call the film office to verify. I stand around for another 10 minutes and she comes back, looking equally skeptical but signs off on the form, says it's okay and that I need to bring it back after I register in a week.
Arg. Stupid women in the film office forging signatures for the department head. Dammit. But all should be well, it was just a waste of my time.
Now, I bide my time until my shitty English class tonight, where we'll be learning how to cite sources in MLA format. FUCKING KILL ME NOW.
