I totally didn't remember until reading Dacey's journal, but I too had a dream about LJ last night. I was reading people's entries. That was all, basically.
Saw this in someone's journal, and basically started to laugh. People are so fucking stupid sometimes. It's a list of songs with questionable lyrics. Now, yes, there are some "questionable lyrics" out there, but some of these are ridiculous.
-Savage Garden "Crash and Burn"
-Dave Matthews Band "Crash Into Me"
-Bangles "Walk Like an Egyptian"
-Alanis Morissette "Ironic"
-Barenaked Ladies "Falling for the First Time"
-Fuel "Bad Day"
Falling for the First Time? Bad Day? These aren't "questionable lyrics". Crash into Me is blatantly about sex, but I wouldn't call it questionable.
-Peter Paul and Mary "Leavin' on a Jet Plane"
-Simon And Garfunkel "Bridge Over Troubled Water"
-Frank Sinatra "New York, New York"
These are just absurd.
-Cat Stevens "Peace Train"
What? Questionable by teaching tolerance? Peace Train is a good song. I don't understand this at all.
[I was going to stop with that, but I needed to add these songs here too...sorry]
-3 Doors Down "Duck and Run"
-Third Eye Blind "Jumper"
-Neil Diamond "America"
-Lenny Kravitz "Fly Away"
-Tom Petty "Free Fallin'"
-Foo Fighters "Learn to Fly"
-Red Hot Chili Peppers "Under the Bridge"
-Sugar Ray "Fly"
-Nina "99 Red Balloons"
*sigh* Music is not evil. Music is an outlet. Perhaps if some of the angered youth of America picked up a guitar and a pen, we could prevent some of the tragedies that seem to be so prevalent here.
Oooo...listening to "Falling For the First Time".
Anyone perfect, must be lying
Anything easy, has it's costs
Anyone plain, can be lovely
Anyone loved, can be lost
These aren't questionable. These are life. These are true. Some people are stupid.
