I (regretfully) stayed up to watch Beaches last night after "Love Monkey" because honestly...what woman can resist Beaches? I remember my mom and I going to Marshfield, Wisconsin one time to visit my Grandma...just the two of us for some reason...and we listened to the soundtrack NON-STOP. For the five hours it takes to get from Deerfield to Marshfield, we listened to the tape on repeat. The movie came out in late 1988, so this was probably 1989, maybe 1990. So I was 5 and I knew every word to every song on that tape...front and back.

How could I turn down such a memory-ridden movie?

But that means I was up until 1:30, then I still had some reading to do. I promptly quit that at 1:45 so I could get a whopping 5 and a half hours of sleep.

Oy, I should have never scheduled a 9am. I realize some people have 7am and 8am classes, but it's hardly different. To me, getting up at 7:30 for my 9am is as bad (if not worse) than getting up at 6am for a 7am class (notice how the earlier the class is, the less time I give myself to get ready. For my 3pm class, I get up at noon).

Anyway...moral of the story, 10:30 is in fact the earliest I can take a class and function properly.

Sometimes I look back at high school with wonder. I don't know how I did it. Late nights, long days, too much work to fit in the brief time between activities and sleep got the shaft. I almost envy that monster I used to be. She got shit done.
