Mrs. Norris as a horcrux.

Wait, we both have Cici icons or did you just use it since we are talking cats?

My only real problem with Mrs. Norris as a horcrux is that she holds no value to Voldemort or any of the founders of the school. I am under the impression that he used items (and possibly people) with a meaning. He isn't about to just throw chunks of his soul into any old mangy fleabag.

Now that I think about it, I have more issues than just that. What is the life expectancy of cats? 15 years plus or minus. When did Mr. Filch get her? How old is she? How much longer can she be expected to live? When would Voldemort have had access to her? Filch is a Squib, no way he is league with Voldemort, even if he wanted to be. Half-bloods are already a stretch.

Anyway. I'm going to go with a no on the Mrs. Norris = Horcrux. Sorry.

It's the same as your Cici icon and I used it because we're discussing cats. I'll make myself a new one...someday.

Mrs. Norris could be an animagus, which would give her a longer life expectancy, though I admit that's a stretch because of Wormtail. Been there, done that...and all that jazz.

The squib thing is something I hadn't forseen. Unless Filch isn't really a squib and has been working as a spy for so many years. Hey, it's could happen! And what better spy could you have than an insignificant cat? She could go anywhere and hear anything. She could keep an eye on Harry at all times (and often does). I wish I had a book to reference, but she's often given descriptions of watching Harry in a human and evil way. Working for Voldemort? Maybe. Kinda like Nagini.

Hey, there's a though. Nagini is a horcrux!
