I'm really impressed at my social life. Most summers (before I had a group of friends larger than about 6, and before I had a license) I would hang out with friends about twice a week for the first two or three weeks. Then, it's like we all dropped of the face of the earth until the end of August. This year is totally different. I haven't gone more than 36 hours without seeing people, and we constantly have plans. It's pretty cool. It's sad though, because all my senior friends are leaving for college between Aug 14 and 24th. We are loosing 6 really good and really close friends (not to mention 4 premier party houses). But we still have a month and a half, so I'm going to stop thinking about it.
Yesterday, my sister and I went shopping...big mistake. I am now broke. Within 4 hours of receiving my week's pay, I was down to $12. Then, I spent 8 on dinner last night. $4 to last me the week...that's tough. This was totally not how it was supposed to be. I was going to be using all my money this summer on new clothes, a new camera and maybe a new stereo. Nope, nope, and nope. Last week, I had to buy $50 worth of birthday presents and a bunch of photo album pages. This week, I bought two tickets to Dexter Freebish at the House of Blues (yeah House of Blues!!), the Mamma Mia! CD (totally awesome, I'm listening to it right now) and a new CD holder. I had one from my sister than held 72 CDs. Needless to say, I have about 86. The numbers don't fit well, so I had to get a new one. The dilemma: 120 or 208 spaces. I honestly stood in Best Buy for 10 minutes hem-ing and haw-ing which to get. I finally decided on the 208. It was $15 more, totaling $40, but it allows me to more than double my collection easily. The other one would only allow me 34 more CDs. I'm fairly certain I have acquired that many in the past year. (Between the CD burning that I bought last summer and my intense love of music, my collection expands quite rapidly. If I could, I think I'd spend all of my money on CDs.)
I'm considering calling my sister Chris and seeing what's up with her. Maybe I'll hang out there until I have plans later. It definitely beats sitting in front of my computer all day. Oh well, time for me to at least shower (I've been up for about an hour, it's time.)
