America was attacked? (September 11, 2001)
Early Bird Physics with Mr. Bruss. At the end of class, someone mentioned hearing something about terrorism, but no one knew what was going on. I went to my 2nd period English class and the television was on. The first plane had already hit, and we were watching the news as the second tower collapsed. The school urged people not to leave, and all day was just eerie and most classes involved watching the news.

I was in fourth grade, and I don't remember much, except seeing footage on the news of the building falling and rescue workers.

students and teachers were shot in Columbine HS, Littleton, Colorado? (April 20, 1999)
I was in 8th grade, and I remember that afternoon/evening there was a presidential address given by Clinton. I had been down in my room and came up and saw him on the screen. I ignored it because I didn't want to hear about whatever horrible thing had happened. The next day in school, we talked about it in our Language Arts class, and I learned what had happened. In that same class, we had to read TIME magazine, so for weeks to follow there were stories a plenty of the school shootings that were taking place across the country.

*NSYNC first appeared on MTV? (April 15, 1998)
I was too busy that day to worry or care about whatever the hell MTV was airing. It was 7th grade, and I was at my aunt's house all day...and for the rest of that week. That was one of the hardest days of my life. That was a Wednesday, the first of three days I would mysteriously disappear from school. There was a field trip that day that I was missing. I didn't care so much about missing it though. So many more important events were taking place.

when Princess Diana was killed? (August 30, 1997)
I was home, it was either still summer or a weekend. I believe it was still summer. I remember being shocked at all the after effects of this beautiful woman's death, and feeling very sad that the reporters never left her alone.

My own edition:
when John F. Kennedy, Jr.'s plane went down? (July 19, 1999)
It was summer and I was devastated by the event. I didn't know much about the Kennedy's or John Jr, but I watched hours upon hours of footage. The only channels I watched were MSNBC and FoxNews. I hoped and prayed for survivors while there was still doubt, and mourned the deaths when they finally determined there was no hope. I watched day and night and was mesmerized by the entire ordeal. I remember the first day, I think I was up while Cici was still home and she had been watching the news before going to work. All I did that entire day was lay on her bed and watch the images.
