Reel - B&W

Be aggressive, b-e aggressive. B-e a-g-g-r-e-s-s-i-v-e!

While I enjoyed Planet of the Apes a fair amount, I was disappointed that my dear Helena Bonham Carter was an ape. She was awesome, but not so much with the pretty, expressive face. As far as the ending, I'm a little confused and it doesn't seem to make much sense to me. I don't really understand how the whole of human history was reworked to be, well, ape history...anyone shed some light?

Sadly, however, it makes me want Sweeney Todd right now, but it isn't set to be released until January! GAH! Maybe I'll watch Big Fish. Or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The latter has the bonus of Johnny Depp with Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter. Fabulous.

As a final note, my facebook horoscope for tomorrow seems oddly appropriate for today: "Any side of the bed feels like the wrong side this morning, so you might as well stay where you are. The answers won't come if you aren't asking the right questions. There are people around you willing to solve your problems, so seek their insight. Avoid spreading yourself thin doing too much socializing."

Weird. I totally woke up at 11am, had a bowl of cereal, then decided it wasn't worth it and went back to bed until 1:30. Then tonight, after dinner at the boys' apartment, I excused myself down to our humble abode to watch a couple movies (with Anna, so it wasn't too depressing or sad). I guess we'll see how tomorrow goes.

I love AMC.

I'm watching "Sunday Morning Shootout" (previously recorded, of course...I was in the shower when the show was on in real time). I noticed the show has a new opening sequence and as Peters Guber and Bart make their introductions, a box comes up at the bottom of the screen and says: "'Sunday Morning Shootout' is now 'Shootout' so be sure to change your DVR settings accordingly."

Thank you, AMC, my TiVo appreciates the heads-up.

Only on a movie channel. Awesome.

BTW...I watched John Tucker Must Die (again) this morning on HBO. It's better than I remember. I love that movie.
Kate Hudson - Lady

And that's the way this wheel keeps working now...

Oh.

My.

God.

I just saw Stardust and dear god! Robert De Niro as a GAY PIRATE! I was CRACKING UP!

Aside from that, the movie was really good, as well. Claire Danes was amazing. Charlie Cox (newcomer in the lead role) was very impressive, the story was engaging and intriguing. It wasn't without its flaws (it could have been a tighter narrative), but overall very good and I will most certainly purchase it on DVD.

The only slight downside is that it made me REALLY want to watch Stage Beauty (another of Danes' fantastic roles), but my sister is currently in possession of it. Then, I wanted to watch Almost Famous, because of the Billy Crudup connection (note: if you're wondering how my mind works, it's all just a long line of associations). And to continue, I saw the first half hour of Singles today on HBO...but anyway...my sister has Almost Famous in her possession, as well.

So, Chris...

Do you think you could go through my DVDs and put all the ones you haven't watched yet in one case that you can keep, and put all the ones you've already watched in the other case and I can take them back with me? I'll be home for Labor Day weekend so I can pick them up (with my new Jane Austen books. BTW...have you read "Pride & Prejudice" yet?).

Alright. So that's it for now. Tonight we're having dinner with the boys in 204 (not to be confused with the boys in 305...yeah, that's my roomies for you. If there are hot any guys in the complex, we will make friends with them and most likely eat/drink/hang out with them).
