Joey and JC - Beautiful

(no subject)

Okay...so for my English paper? We're supposed to pick a topic (Gay marriage) and present both sides, while making it clear what side we are on (uh, duh) and then propose some sort of solution to the problem. Initially, I was going to propose a compromise of a "civil union" so that benefits such as insurance and Social Security, as well as power to make decisions in an emergency could be obtained, but the word "marriage" could be protected by all those asses who want to keep it to the heterosexuals.

Then I got to that part of my paper and thought, "Screw it! Give 'em marriage!" and so I wrote that same-sex marriages should be legalized, and all restrictions on same-sex couples adopting children should be lifted. Hey, it's my utopian world, I can do what I want.

I did have a good defense other than "the Christian Right is stupid." Marriage has been an institution of change back from yonder years when women were property and their belongings were actually their husbands belongings, and oh, let's not forget interracial marriages were once illegal because people where stupid bigots.

So I closed with this zinger: Whether the lifestyle is against your moral or religious views is irrelevant because civil liberties and equality are being sought, and those are protected for all citizens under the U.S. Constitution. (The wording is irking me, but I'll fix it when it isn't 1am.)

HA HA!

Hey! You! Get off of my cloud...!

How weird is this: my two checking accounts are exactly a dollar apart?

$134.46 and $135.46.

In what realm does that happen? I mean...my student loan account started with $20,000 and has been used to pay for tuition, etc. and my other account I've had for over three years and has fluctuated as I use it for everything. By this time next week, I'll have paid my May credit card bills and they will again be no where near each other.

That said...I'm broke. In two weeks I'll be back in Illinois and hopefully I can find a job!

By the way, finals start today, and so my class schedule (times and locations) has been royally fucked. I'm really worried I'm going to forget to go to my screening tonight tomorrow at 5:30 (class is usually Tuesdays at 3) in COMM108 (normal classroom is COMM145).

That information was purely to remind myself.

Match Point come out on DVD today. I plan to stop by Best Buy later to purchase it. At the same time, I will be going to Home Depot to buy a few boxes. Because I need to pack. Eww.

Ultimately, the plan is to be 90% packed by Thursday so that after my final, I can go to EPCOT and see the Flower and Garden Festival, then my Mom and whoever else comes to Disney will drive to my apartment, load up the boxes and transport them to Spring Hill, where they will either stay for the summer, or stay for the week until I drive back to Illinois.

This necessitates being packed, so I should really start that. Eek.

Follow me into the desert as thirsty as you are...

So...I sort of started packing?

You know that stage where you basically just make a big mess and wind up with piles of crap all over your bed and floor?

Yeah, that's the stage I'm at. Though now I might have until Friday, which is stellar.

I did back up my hard drive and update my iPod, though. So my computer feels cleaner too!

Tonight:
- Review study sheet for FIL final (make sure I can write essays based on my notes, and practice is my head)
- Edit my English paper a second time, and make corrections
- Write a treatment for a script (eww)

And so. I will need caffeine, dinner, and an alarm set to wake me up for my final in the morning (class is usually at 9am, but the final's at 10! Woo, extra hour of sleep!)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is on HBO.

Hee hee...yay!

I was going to complain about how whenever I turn on TV for a dinner break, hoping to find a good sitcom to occupy a 20-minute break...but always just find three different channels airing "Everybody Loves Raymond." (For the record, I do NOT love Raymond.)

Pleasant surprise indeed.

"Messers Mooney, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs, offer their compliments to Professor Snape and request that he keep his abnormally large nose out of other people's business." Tee hee!
