You're So Vain - Carly Simon

For a girl of my age, why am I so numb?

Tired. So very tired.

But I slept until 11, after getting to bed around 1. 10 hours of sleep is a LOT more than I've been typically getting.

Had some strange dreams.
- There was a lot of IMing stuff, where I couldn't respond to it, or wouldn't see it pop up and people would keep signing on and off and trying to talk to me, but not getting a response.
- Then there was some twisted sex thing, like that episode of Friends with the "but they don't know we know they know" with Phoebe and Chandler trying to seduce each other. It was a back and forth competition sort of thing, objectifying friends for the good of a cause.
- And then there was the building of a second story for the DHS parking lot. Was very odd. The structure they had built, a little replica that showed how the second story would work, was completely unstable, and I knocked it over. Everyone got made at me, and I tried to explain that it was poor construction and wouldn't work.

I don't ask questions, I just sleep.

Feeling oddly sad today.

I should be doing homework. I have to read an entire book, and since it's obvious I will not be able to finish The Handmaid's Tale in time, I'll probably have to go out and buy Fahrenheit 451, which I wanted to read anyway, but they didn't have it when I went to go buy the book originally.

I want to be listening to Sarah McLachlan right now, but the CD is in my room, and this computer makes a LOT of noise when trying to play a CD or CD-Rom. Boo!

Rob's Birthday Party is tonight at 6. Maybe I'll go back to sleep until then.

No energy today.

    Fool's Gold - Bree Sharp

Nights just get later, I could stay up and wait or just go on to bed like I do

So I don't know how many of you have heard of the new product-thing from audiogalaxy...probably anyone who had an account...but Rhapsody is looking kinda interesting to me.

I downloaded the free trial thing, and basically, you get a nearly unlimited playlist (limited only by those albums/artists that are not yet available).

Now, this thing is $10 a month, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it. I basically only use Winamp or any mp3 device for songs and albums I already have. But saving all those songs, especially when I have them on CD seems a waste.

So this would be good because I could delete all my mp3s, and still listen to almost everything I would usually listen to.

Or I would use it to look up new artists I might be interested in. And this conveniently loads entire albums to listen to. Like I loaded Vanessa Carlton and Justin Timberlake, because these are both CDs I'd like to buy, but I want to make sure it's worth it first.

And you can burn CDs from Rhapsody...for .99/track. So basically a full CD is somewhere from about $11-13. The norm, really. And I would probably go out and buy the actual CD anyhow, so it wouldn't really be an additional charge.

But $10 a month?

If it were $5, I would definitely do it. But I don't know if I'd want to spend $120 a year on a service like this.

But already, I've almost decided that I need to buy the Vanessa Carlton CD, after hearing two of the songs and liking them a lot.

I guess I should use it for a little longer and see if it's something I would really like to do. And of course there's that whole "I really have no money to put toward it"...meaning I should really go the the bank and open a checking account with atm/debit card soon. I just recently found $200 worth of birthday checks in my room. Eep! 4 months and I still haven't gotten those cashed or deposited. Damn, it's a good thing I didn't lose them.

So yes. That's where I am right now.

I Learned That From You - Sara Evans

How she'd be soothed, how she'd be saved if he could see she needs to be held in his arms to be free

This is such a good song.

Collapse )

I would recommend downloading it. Also "Sway", "Paradise" and "Prince".

I've been tired all day, and haven't been able to sleep. I've been messing with Rhapsody and Kaaza lite (by suggestion of Peter). Eh.

Tried to make my hair curly-ish. Put it in about 7 braids after my shower. Took them out. Nothing happened except a huge poof. Why can't I do fun stuff with my hair?!? Grrr.

Still need to buy that book for English. And read it. By Tuesday. Blarg.

That's it. Hour and a half until Rob's party. Need sleep.
