Anyone who says that a taffy apple (specifically Affy Tapple with nuts) and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream isn't a healthy breakfast...
Well, you'd be right. But that's not stopping me. In the least.
I was thinking of this song again and it reminded me that I should turn in my housing for Iowa and Indiana. I'm pretty sure I'll go to one of these two schools, so it's not like it's be a waste. Altogether $50 non-refundable if I go neither. So...
I guess I'm going to college.
I still need to pick up my NU form. And soon. They have 5 essays, dammit and I need to start working on them. *kicks Northwestern* I'll probably have to go down there some time...in my free time...that I don't have. *kicks Northwestern again*
I love the Inspector Gadget theme, but waking up to it blasting in your ear at 10am while your mother tells you that they'll be going out to lunch at the Olive Garden is not a pleasant way to be woken. Okay, well...lunch at Olive Garden is good. Sisters are good (and I think all three will be there. Fayanne's in town this weekend and a note upstairs said that Emily would be coming. I assume Cici will be there...?) So yeah. I'll have to shower soon.
3pm, meeting at school with my APES class and the Earthworks club to go kayaking in the Skokie Lagoons. I'll get home a little after 6.
8pm, meeting the STUNTS Board at Applebee's for a meeting...our last before rehearsals start next Monday. This reminds me that I need to prepare an agenda with the info each of the troupes sent back to me.
And now...it's shower time.
Princes yes, but wolves and humans too.
Lunch was good...I believe I said that earlier. And shopping at Old Navy? Maybe I didn't mention it. Hmm...
Well...got a few new shirts, a new purse, and a nice coat from Old Navy. Fun fun. Then lunch at Olive Garden...yummy.
Kayaking was fun too. There were supposed to be 40 of us. There were only 10. So Amanda and I basically just hung around with Charlie, Eyal and Eyal's sister (I don't know here name. Eep!) It was highly entertaining. Once the sun started going down though...it got really really cold. Brrr!!
Now I'm home. I quickly wrote up an agenda for the STUNTS Board meeting tonight. Debating whether 10 minutes is enough time to move into my new purse. Hmmm...
Either way, I have to get moving. I should be at Applebee's somewhat early-ish because I'm sort of in charge. Eh, it makes sense in my head.
And I'm spent.
Contrary to my mood of "*sigh*" I'm actually very content.
Just got home from my STUNTS Board meeting that went very well. We got through everything we needed to get through, plus we had fun. The Board is such a great group of diverse and respecting people and we all get along very well. It's fantastic.
I should be studying for the APES test tomorrow, but I think I'll try to do that during my free periods.
I have to be up a half-hour earlier tomorrow (6:45) because I have a meeting before school. Yet another activity...Student Activities Board. I'm rather excited. I don't really know what it is, except that students are chosen from a few different areas of activities to make up the board. (A couple from Athletics, a Frosh, Soph, Junior and Senior Exec Board representative, Music, Mathletes, GIMA, Publications/media, Performance [me], Student Council, Cheer Squad.) On the agenda for tomorrow is "Purpose of Student Activities Board" so hopefully by tomorrow I'll know what's going on.
Speaking of activities...
A conversation I had with Steph about why I haven't joined AWARE yet this year. The 3 activities I discuss are Assistant Directing, Stage Managing (because these were definitely two separate entities and any time I wasn't at one, I was at the other. There was no break between them), and Producing STUNTS. I also have SAB that I mentioned above, though there is very little effort put forth there, and it's very infrequent (8 meetings for the year). Starting a week from tomorrow, Fall Play ends, and my STUNTS duties increase. I'm hoping that in the swap, I'll be able to pick up crew on a more regular basis, as well as attend rehearsals for STUNTS and add AWARE once a week. Heh. All this in the first two months of school. Yeah. I'm involved. Too bad it's usually all clumped as "theatre" and then it looks like I do nothing. They can all kiss my ass.
Tigger3833 (10:01:04 PM): so whats this...I'm too good for AWARE stuff about?
honeygailmarie (10:02:05 PM): It's not "I'm too good for AWARE" it's "I have already committed myself to 3 very large projects and until the Fall Play has ended and I'm left with only one, I really can't take on another activity"
honeygailmarie (10:02:30 PM): I'm only human, I can't stretch 45 hundred ways
honeygailmarie (10:02:50 PM): I plan to join up again after Stefanie closes....assuming I can
honeygailmarie (10:03:38 PM): The more activities I pile on, the less I can commit whole-heartedly to any one
honeygailmarie (10:03:54 PM): I'd rather sacrifice one than ruin them all
Tigger3833 (10:05:40 PM): yeah I agree with that philosphy
honeygailmarie (10:05:50 PM): I'm glad
Now I'm going to get some sleep so I can get to my meeting in the morning. Eep!
One last note: I love eyeliner.
All the stuff that I meant to include in my last post...but I got too caught up in discussing why I spend *figures in head...then uses a calculator* between 50 and 65 hours a week at school.
I got in the car after Applebee's and turned on the radio. At 9:47, I was listening to a song on 94.7. Then, I was flipping stations when I realized that I was listening to a live Fuel concert that was airing on 95.1...at 9:51! I thought it was damn-cool.
"Damn-cool" is now a word. Webster's will print it in it's next revision and the origin will be attributed to me.
I still can't get over how true that line in Goodbye to You is. And it hurts to want everything and nothing at the same time. This is my life it's talking about. Fucked up, yo.
School again tomorrow until 9. Our last tech. Our final dress. We open Tuesday night. We are so screwed, and I'm just looking forward to closing the show on Saturday. As far as I'm concerned (and a host of others as well), the show is already over for me.
However, this means that I get to go home after school Tuesday through Friday and just come back at either 5:30 or 6 for call and then the shows. And I'm field tripped out of several classes this week for the daytime performances. Oy. We do 8 shows. 8. Eight. Dammit.
I really should have studied for APES.
Quote of the week:
Aunt Judy: That was a beautiful wedding. It lasted what...? 10 years?
Mom: It's because he was short.
Followed closely by:
[talking about a Zip disk being fat...]
Me: Sure, it's bigger than your average floppy...but it has feelings too!! :'(
Jason: it might become bulimic and start spitting your data back out at you
Me: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That was hilarious
Jason: i'm glad that amuses you :-)
Me: Yes. There is a bit of wrongness to it all, but it amused me greatly. Sort of like a dead baby joke
Good times, good times. And now I'm off to bed. Finally.
