So I started watching Danny Boyle's Sunshine and at first I thought it was an overly-existential, trying-too-hard-to-be-the-hip-new-science-fiction film. You know...the ones with very little ambient sound and a lot of long shots with minimal cutting that clearly owe everything to Kubrick's 2001.

And it is...but it's also really interesting and once you get passed the "it's possible I'm more intelligent than you" type of filmmaking...it's pretty cool. Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans, and Rose Byrne are all excellent.

In other totally awesome news, I forgot that Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and thus I have no school. Literally, I didn't realize it until my professor today mentioned at the end of class that there wouldn't be class held on Monday so he'd see us Wednesday.
