Well, does he take you out dancin' just so he can hold you close...?

I'm becoming increasingly obsessed with Sweeney Todd.

[Which is entirely appropriate, given that obsession is the central theme...]

I mean...I've been talking about it for MONTHS now. I was ridiculously excited before it was released...and now that it's out, I can't seem to get it out of my head.

I've seen it twice already, most recently a week and a half ago. And I'm itching to go again already. Luckily, my roommates are interested in seeing it, so I might coerce them into going this weekend.

I can't help's just so fabulous. It's dark and witty and the sets/costumes/stylistic elements are amazing. The performances are spot-on, and even the singing is acceptable (though I'll be the first to admit that Helena and Johnny are the weakest singers in the cast). Their amazingness makes up for it, though...I wouldn't want to see anyone else in those roles.

Oh, and it doesn't help that Playbill Radio has played both "Green Finch and Linnet Bird" and "Johanna" (from the Tim Burton version) within the last half-hour.

Oy. The musicals always get me. I'm sure I'll be watching Hairspray at some point this weekend. Damn you, Broadway!

In other news, as much as I hate getting up at 7:15/7:30 four days a week, it is really nice to be done with class and back home by 9:40am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

I've been here nearly an hour already, my roommates are all still asleep, and I've been able to check my email at my leisure, plan out a tentative movie schedule for today (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly at 11:50am in Winter Park, then Charlie Wilson's War at 2:50pm in Waterford Lakes), and simply chill out.

It's lovely and, if not productive, at least it doesn't feel like I'm wasting my day by sleeping.
