A truly fantastic night of buffalo chicken pizza, 101 Dalmatians (which was SO much better than I remembered...I mean, I remembered it being good, but it's REALLY good), Lady and the Tramp, and a round+ of Disney Scene It with Colleen.

Oh yeah. We're hard-core.

BTW - I'm ridiculously good at Disney trivia. Like...too good to be human. The first game of Scene It we played, I had gotten to the end and won the game, while Colleen was still only 6 spaces away from start. Granted, she kept rolling low numbers and getting All Plays, and I consistently rolled 4s and 6s and got an even number of All Plays and other challenges (My Plays, trivia card questions).

But still. It's almost embarrassing to be this good. She's good, too. I'm just freakish.

After that, we just did the Party Play so we could both participate.

Also, we have tentative plans to have a "Disney Day" and watch all sorts of obscure Disney flicks (like A Goofy Movie) as well as some more popular mainstream ones (I'm thinking an early-90s mini-marathon of The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Lion King...and for those perfectionists out there, technically The Little Mermaid is "late 80s").

Oh, lofty goals. ;-)

PS - I think if I get a boy cat, I might name him "Sergeant Tibbs." It's a pretty kick-ass name for a cat.

Yesterday was a spectacularly brilliant, yet fairly uneventful day.

When I left for class at 8:30am, it was 56 degrees outside. Brrr! And it was lovely (and about the same temperature as back home in Chicago). It made me cheerful.

I handed in my final paper for American Cinema and because we have no final exam...it was our last class meeting ever. So I'm done with that class entirely. Hopefully I'll clinch an A for the semester. Additionally, class let out 20 minutes early, so I had plenty of time to run to the post office and drop off a Netflix, go to Best Buy to pick up Juno (which Colleen and I watched later that night), and even go to Panera during the lunch rush to get a sandwich to go. I knew I was in a cheery mood because the ridiculous lines and even more ridiculous people at the Panera did not make me annoyed, but rather amused.

I ate my lunch with due leisure at home before heading back to campus for Theory and Criticism in Art History. It was a note-intensive day, trying to cram in the last of the material needed for the final exam, while clarifying some of the material that got lost along the way. It was interesting, though, and there were many ideas that struck a cord.

After, I met with my professor to discuss my thesis. I was supposed to turn in a revised copy this week, but she said the draft I gave her two weeks ago was close enough to being finished that I don't need to give her anything else (it was completed, just not fully polished). She's giving me an A for the semester. Sweet. I still plan to revise it, and incorporate her comments, just for my own obsessive perfectionism.

Later, I went to my last lecture of Geography. We have an exam tomorrow (on the last day), and if I'm satisfied with my final grade at that point, I don't have to take the final exam next week. (I don't plan on taking the final exam regardless of my grade...I will be leaving at 2am that morning to drive up to Iron Mountain, Michigan for my cousin's wedding. So a 3pm final doesn't really work for me.)

What's really cool about all that? After tomorrow's Geography exam, I will have completed 3 of my 5 courses this semester...before finals week even starts. Sweet.

So I'll have the weekend to study for my two art history exams, which are Tuesday and Wednesday. And then I'm done. Forever. Whoa. A week from today and my college career is finished. Crazy.

Today, my only plans are to finish polishing my thesis and then study for Geography. I need an 83% on the exam to get an A for the semester. To this point, my scores have been 88, 87, and 94, so if I study hard enough, I might be able to clinch that. But if I end up with a B, I'll deal.

----

In other news, I adore Michelle Obama. Not gonna lie. Love her. I think she'd be a kick-ass First Lady. Hillary-Clinton-circa-1993 style.

My watch says the date is the 31st.

Clearly it doesn't know that February only has 29 days (or, rather, it expected me to actually change the date at the appropriate time. Silly).

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now because I have too much work and not enough time to do it in. But I figured that if I made a list, I might be able to more successfully compartmentalize and it will seem less impossible:
- Thesis (I'm aiming for 16-20 pages for Tuesday, but really I'm not worried about the length, just about getting everything I want to say in there and support all of my conclusions satisfactorily)
- Geography webwork assignment (due before class on Tuesday, so I'll have to do it by Monday night...I think it's a long one, though, so it will take about 2 hours)
- Theory and Criticism term paper outline (definitely waiting until after my thesis appointment with my advisor. I should be able to take a lot of it out of my thesis if I go about it right. It's due Thursday)
- History of Prints extra credit paper (it's extra credit, but I need the 10 points, so I'll have to write a kick-ass, 8-page comparison of Rembrandt's "The Three Trees" and Whistler's "[something] Landscape" etchings. Time consuming...and time I don't really have. I guess that's what I'll be doing all-day Wednesday and Thursday morning and evening)

All I can say is thank god I wrote my Film paper (also due Tuesday) last week.

But I guess if I compartmentalize it, I only have my thesis and Geography webwork to do before 9am on Tuesday. The outline and Prints paper can wait until Wednesday. Assuming, of course, I can write an 8-page paper in a day and a half.

I foresee no sleep in my future.

The good news? Spring Break begins immediately after that extra-credit paper is due on Friday.

Oh, and at some point I should let you all in on the drama of the apartment. Everything is currently imploding, but I'm ignoring it all until I have time to worry about it.

I honestly don't understand how a person could sleep for 6 hours with two different alarms going off every few minutes.

Seriously. Every three-ish minutes, one of two alarms chimes. And yet she sleeps through it. They were going off at 9:30 this morning, when I left for a meeting with my advisor (most everything is on track for graduation...I do have a couple little hiccups which I hope to get resolved soon).

They were still chiming at 10:30 when I got home from my meeting.

And now? 6 hours later? They are still going off.

I really don't understand.

I mean...if I were so tired that I definitely couldn't wake up and wasn't going to wake up...I'd turn off the alarm, or reset it for a much later time. And I seriously doubt I could even sleep for that long, being waked every three minutes.

To be honest, it's pretty damn annoying.

Now, I know some of you out there may be concerned that I will be having such a busy Senior spring semester that I won't have any time for shenanigans or tomfoolery.

Don't worry...I'm still managing to fit utter nonsense in, wherever possible.

Today, I had early class (eww) but was back home by 9:45am, at which point I did my homework for Theory and Criticism of Art History (read two articles and write responses for them). It wasn't hard and it ended up being really interesting.

So tonight, I rewarded myself by going to the UCF men's basketball game with the roommates and Colleen's boyfriend. When we left (5 minutes before the end), the score was 90 - 68, and I just checked...we won 109 to 80. Go Knights! It was kinda boring, to be honest (I prefer football), but it was free for students, so it was a nice way to spend an evening.

Additionally, I'm planning on being GROSSLY irresponsible this weekend. First, I will be seeing 27 Dresses on Friday with Anna and maybe Colleen.

Then on Saturday, I'm attending Gasparilla Pirate Festival in Tampa. Oh yes, you read right. It's an annual festival with an epic 3-hour parade of pirates, and the Bay will be full of pirate ships (at some point, there's a "battle" between the pirates and the navy, which ends in the navy's surrender). Oh man, it's gonna be awesome.

Then, as if that weren't enough, Colleen and I are going to be attending the Matchbox Twenty/Alanis Morissette concert Saturday night (conveniently located at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, practically in the midst of all the Gasparilla Pirate Fest foolishness).

Pirates + Alanis + Matchbox Twenty? Saturday is going to be AWESOME!

But that's not all! I'm going to try to get to Disney a lot from Sunday through Wednesday when my sisters and brother-in-law will be doing a crazy-intensive trip (they are attempting to ride every ride, see every show, and hit up every attraction there is).

The problem is that in the next week, I have to write a 4-page paper based on a movie I haven't yet seen (and am not certain fits with the topical guidelines), write an outline and continue research for my thesis, and study for a very difficult geography exam. Then the week after, I have to visit the Rollins College art museum and write a review on the exhibit, and study HARD CORE for my History of Prints exam (which will most likely be the second hardest exam of my scholastic career...nothing beats that chemistry final from last semester).

My roommate Jane just made fun of me for listening to "Playbill Radio" on iTunes. Yes, I'm a geek and we all know it.

In my defense, they just played "Totally Fucked" from "Spring Awakening" (uncensored, as it should be). And then there was "Why Can't You Behave?" from "Kiss Me, Kate" (a musical I love, even though many people don't).

Anyway, I am back in Orlando and I had my first class this morning (History of Prints at 8:30am), and all we did was go over the syllabus.

But I'm done for the day, and all of my roomies are just waking up (their first classes are at 1, 1:30 and 2:30...bitches). And for as much shit as I talked about them over break, I did miss them and it was nice to get back together and hang out. Last night, Anna, Colleen and I even watched Funny Face (1957 Audrey Hepburn/Fred Astaire musical). And we have tentative plans to see some movies in the theater. (They want to see Sweeney Todd and Atonement...both of which I'd love to see again, along with others.)

Other than all that, I'm planning to go to Target and Publix today for groceries and other miscellaneous items. The grocery store seems to have some good deals on things like toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry detergent, so I figured I'd stock up for the apartment. Plus, I'm out of food and need to go anyway.

It's a fun and exciting first day of my last semester of classes. Obviously.

Oh, and by the way...it was AMAZING to be back in my own bed, in my own room, with my own door, and my own bathroom. It's been damn-near a month and I was starting to go crazy.

First off, I had an entirely fabulous night last night.

Well, it started during the day, actually. Around 2pm, I was done with my chemistry final and feeling awesome. Anna, who also attends UCF, was finished too so we thought it would be cool to do something. There weren't any films out that she and I would both want to see (story of my life, kids) and shopping seemed so boring and passé. So, we collectively came up with the brilliant idea to go to Downtown Disney (the shopping, eating, entertainment area, for those of you not in the know). The best part? It's totally free.

Anna's somewhat of an amateur photographer (some of her work is really stunning, I keep meaning to ask if I can buy a piece off her), so she brought her manual, black and white film camera with and we walked around and enjoyed the Disney-esque atmosphere and hopefully she got some cool candid shots of kids or buildings, or whatever. It was pretty awesome.

After that, we headed back home and Jane, Colleen and the girls from next door, Michelle and Jessica, decided they wanted to play beer pong later. Sweet. I missed out on a game a couple nights ago because I started to feel ill and went to sleep early. But first, Colleen really wanted to rent the movie Waitress. We here in Collegeville are cheap-asses, though and no one wanted to pay $5 at Blockbuster (oh man...I hate Blockbuster so much, it's insane). So, she mentioned that Wal-Mart is supposed to have those DVD rental kiosks where you rent a movie for a $1. Totally awesome. So I went with her to Wal-Mart, where we also bought a bottle of white zinfandel and two bottles of Andre Extra Dry (oh, I'm spreading that shit like wildfire...and everybody loves it).

It turns out that Wal-Marts don't have the kiosks, but Wal-Mart Neighborhood Markets (their grocery chain) do. Well, there are three said Markets in a 5 mile radius from our apartment, so we headed over there. I'm not going to lie...I'm in love with the idea. These redbox kiosks are pretty awesome. They are subject to being sold out of movies (like any rental place), and the selection isn't great yet, but it definitely seems like they are just adding the new titles every week, so the longer they are in place, the better the selection. Sadly for us, Waitress was sold out. However, we did rent Hairspray for a dollar!!!! I know, I know...I own the DVD, I could have waited until tomorrow, when I meet my mother and hopefully she brings it back to me...but screw off, it's $1. I was so excited, I jumped up and down a bit in the parking lot. I'm pretty sure Colleen thought I was off my rocker.

So this redbox thing...I looked it up online after we got back and it's pretty spiffy (FYI - there are none within 20 miles of Spring Hill, FL, but they are at Jewel locations through the Deerfield area and the Wal-Mart on Lake-Cook). And apparently people around Deerfield don't know about them or feel that paying $1 for a movie is too cheap and beneath them, because you can check the titles available online (and reserve one to pick up at a kiosk, a feature I find awesome) and the Jewel in Highland Park by the Toys R Us and the one on Lake-Cook has all the good new releases, including Pirates and Superbad, which were regrettably out of stock at all the ones in the my area...I mean, I own them both, but it was like a litmus test. So cool, you can check availability and reserve it online.

Additionally, and this is just because I'm an uber dork, if you put in a zip code and no redboxes are found, it comes up with a message that says: "Attenzione, achtung and yo! There seems to be something amiss." First off, they use languages not often represented, yet humorous (isn't it a running gag that anything said in German sounds hilarious?). Plus, the word "amiss" is just awesome and we should all use it more.

ANYWAY, so Colleen and I get home to an empty apartment (the girls had gone on a beer run) so we pour some $4 "champagne" and start the movie (because it's still too early for beer pong anyway). It was fabulous and I had to really control myself not to sing ridiculously loud along with everything. The other four girls got home and we all watched and I think they all liked it, or were at least amused. By the end, Anna was swooning every time Zac Efron was on the screen (I don't know what it is about that movie, or that boy, but the combination is LETHAL).

After the movie, because the night wasn't awesome enough, I got into a really great discussion of 20th Century art with Michelle and Jessica (who had taken a 20th C Humanities course). I have an issue occasionally with my roommates because I never feel like I have anything to contribute to their conversations. I'm not going to be a bitch and say that they are shallow or anything, because they definitely aren't, but they aren't the type of people that you can launch into a discussion of Andy Warhol or even stellar cinema. After art, we veered into a discussion of Keira Knightley (I swear to GOD I didn't bring her up, though I was quick to extoll her virtues), we talked about Natalie Portman, had a really good discussion about The Professional and I lent them Closer to watch. We discussed books into movies and how they suck, though I was certain to defend and recommend Pride and Prejudice (as though my life were at stake). It was so ridiculously awesome.

After that, the evening was just sort of all about chatting and drinking. We never did get around to playing beer pong, but I did learn that you can't by 40 oz. beers in Florida. No 40 Hands. The closest you get is 32 oz., but "32 Hands" clearly doesn't sound as cool. Random.

To sum up:
- Downtown Disney
- Wine and $4 Andre Extra Dry
- redbox
- Hairspray
- Discussion of 20th century art and cinema (dear god, that's my senior independent research topic)
- Awesome neighbors

YAY!

PS - For the record, I used the word "awesome" 9 times in this entry, which evens out to about once a paragraph. I believe that from this analysis, you can conclude that my day yesterday was, in fact, awesome.

So today was quite excellent.

It started bright and early at 9:10am when Anna knocked on my door and said I had 20 minutes to get ready to go tailgating. While I was ready by 9:30, we still ended up waiting on Colleen and Jessica (from next door) and didn't get out of the apartment complex until 10:15. Oh well.

Tailgating was sort of a bust. And it's really more like picnic-ing (or so I joked). While some people hung out in parking lots...they are so small and numerous that it's impossible to get a really big "tailgating party" feel. However, we have a large strip of grass we call "Memory Mall" on which hundreds of tents were set up with alcohol, grills, music, football, and other such nonsense. Nothing like ribs and burgers at 10:30am. We met up with Jessica's boyfriend, but there wasn't really anything to do and we didn't have alcohol, so we moved on and patronized the on-campus Barnes & Noble to pick up festive black and gold pom-pons, and Starbucks.

We then set out to scalp us some tickets (question: is scalping only the action of the seller, or is the buyer also scalping? In this context, we were buying), and got a super incredible deal. We bought 3 tickets valued at $40 a piece...for $25. Total. So...a $95 discount. Not shabby.

And the game rocked. It was the Conference USA championships in which we played Tulsa (which spells "a slut" backwards). It started out a pretty even match, we were neck-and-neck through the first half. The second half came around, though, and we kicked their asses 44-25. Schweet. So, we're division champions and on our way to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, TN where we'll be playing LSU. I'm predicting a loss, but division champs is good. It's our first title ever in our first season in our own stadium. Pretty awesome. Oh, and our running back is right behind Barry Sanders for single-season rushing yards (2,448, compared to 2,628). Go Kevin Smith. Here's to getting 180+ yards in the Liberty Bowl.

After the game, we were famished and for whatever reason, Anna decided she really wanted to go to Hooters and none of us had ever been, so we got some wings and burgers and had a lovely and filling meal. We actually ended up sitting at a table next to three guys from the UCF football team. I have no idea who they were (they didn't have numbers on their backs, and a commentator running a play-by-play, as per usual), but it was cool none the less.

Since then, I've caught up on most of my backlogged TiVo (two episodes of "Project Runway" and an entire week of "Ellen"), while Anna has been passed out on my bed. She's going on 5 and a half hours, only gaining consciousness for about 3 minutes over the entire time. But she has a nasty habit of pulling all-nighters (or multiple all-nighters), so she probably needs the sleep.

Colleen thinks it's hilarious.

BTW - Anderson Cooper stated that he was obsessed with "My Super Sweet 16" and "Tiara Girls" when he was on "Ellen." There's no way he's straight. I'm surprised he didn't cite "Project Runway" as one of his favorites.

(Also, when she had Joey Fatone on, she brought out JC Chasez and had them play "The Singing Bee" against one another. It was pretty damn cute.)

Oy.

So yesterday I was supposed to have a Chemistry exam. All 400+ of us students went to class, had our Scantrons out and were waiting patiently for the tests to be distributed. And then they were...except that over 100 of us didn't receive an exam.

So my professor postponed the test until Thursday's class, which sucks because I wanted to get it over with already. (This is an important fact, keep it in mind.)

Last night, a bunch of us (two roommates and four neighbors) went to Ale House for dinner and beer...which was really good. Then we chilled for a while at home, played some flip cup and the girls got ready to go out (it takes me about 10 minutes to "get ready" so we were really just waiting on the glamourous ones). Afterward, we went to Devaney's...which was less fun. It was still pretty good, but I regretted all the drinking when I woke up this morning. But I'm feeling better now.

And tonight, against my better judgement, Colleen and I are going to see Dane Cook downtown. It's against my better judgement because tickets (with taxes and parking and everything included) are going to be about $65. Not quite pocket change. Also, if you'll recall from earlier...I have a Chemistry test tomorrow that I really need to study more for.

However, Colleen is REALLY looking forward to it. She's a huge Dane fan and said she literally called every person in her cell phone and no one want to go with her, and I can't let her down by bailing out now.

Plus, I do love stand-up...like...a lot. And Dane Cook is quite funny, though I've only seen one of his DVDs. So money aside, poor judgement aside, Chemistry test aside...I'm going to see Dane tonight.

As a final note, I wasn't planning on returning to Spring Hill until next week for Thanksgiving, but it looks like I'll be heading out there this weekend because my sister Emily just acquired a puppy. I say "acquired" because it was found in the parking lot of her work, and she took it home. So I think I'll be going out there and playing with the puppy (and presumably help take care of him while they are at work).

Isn't he adorable? (And cell phones take some pretty amazing pictures)

I'm taking a small break.

Paper is...acceptable. Not great, but going.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through, so I just need to pound out one more single-spaced page on Mary Cassatt, then write a conclusion and I'll be done.

I'm a little nervous for it, but I think it's pretty solid and it is for "extra credit" anyhow.

Also, I can't seem to get John Mayer's "3x5" out of my head. And while I love the song (I extolled it's virtues a day or two ago), it's really distracting.

As is my roommate Jane, but she's trying so hard to be quiet so I can work...it's pretty cute. She's showering now and will be going to the grocery store soon, so I should have a good hour or so of peace and quiet.

Time for more work!

I've been listening to "My Top Rated" playlist on iTunes on shuffle for the past few days while working on my paper (or during downtime between...I often get too distracted by music).

Some of these songs I haven't heard in quite a long time, and it makes me really happy.

I forgot how much I love the following albums:
Guster - Keep It Together
Anna Nalick - Wreck of the Day
Jason Mraz - Mr. A-Z
Sarah McLachlan - Mirrorball
Alanis - all of them. They rock, she rocks, I love her and she needs to come out with something new NOW!

Also, I've been listening to Corinne Bailey Rae in the car (which is really an excellent album), and I haven't done that since last winter-ish, so it puts me in a winter mood (my mind is big on song association). Not a regular winter mood, though...a Florida winter. When I can roll down the windows and get Starbucks hot coffee. But I can't wear scarves, because it's just too hot and your neck ends up sweating and you start to suffocate.

I think at some point, I'll make a list of my all-time, top 25(-ish), favorite/best songs. There are 67 songs that have 5-star ratings, though only about 1250 of my songs are loaded on this computer. I decided to only transfer the best-of-the-best, and the most recent albums...stuff I'd listen to on a regular basis. Not too many older albums made it on here, unless it's an artist I still listen to frequently (like Alanis or Barenaked Ladies).

In other awesome news, Colleen brought home food from Don Pablo's (where she works) for me and Jane. It was so good.

And I was going to get back to work, because I had taken a pretty long break, but Anthony from next door is over, so I might be social for a little bit longer before I plunge into another couple hours of work before bed.

First off, I'm super cool. It's 1am on a Friday night and I'm writing a paper. (Lame.)

The good news is that I'm about 1/4 of the way through it and I've been heavily distracted this entire time. I can't wait to see how much I get done when I can actually concentrate. (Two of the roommies just left for a party, so its gotten considerably quieter. I might be able to bound out the next fourth...but probably not because I'm really tired.)

Second, I'm a big geek but I'm kinda digging the Chicago Manual style. It totally kicks MLA's ass. Endnotes are far superior to internal citations, plus you get to use ibid. Though I think "ibid." is a stupid abbreviation, because it only eliminates two letters. At least "etc." gets rid of 5 letters and a space.

Bottom line: endnotes are awesome.

Third, I am increasingly grateful for Facebook. It's so much easier to post a wall message than send an email, plus, if it's some sort of information that could benefit others, they can easily view it. I'm not entirely sure that made sense, but I Facebook'ed Candace about my proposed dates for Winter Break, and Amanda was able to respond to me that she would be overlapping. Sweet.

Additionally, it allows one to quickly access friends. I thought (foolishly) that after college it would be easier to keep in touch with people. However, I think we've spread out farther than before. It makes sense, I just didn't anticipate it.

Similarly, it's easier to keep up with people's lives by stalking their profile and wall. You can generally find any big news without even having to fish for it. Now, I still think writing legitimate emails is far superior to a Facebook message, and I certainly use that form of communication often. However, a wall message : email :: text message : phone call. (Yeah, you liked that.)

Fourth, why do we use the term "emails?" Theoretically, the plural form of email is "email." But it sounds odd to say, "I sent 7 email this morning."

And done.

First off, the staff at the Enzian is starting to recognize me. It's not necessarily a bad thing, the three people who mentioned it are nice people. However, it makes me embarrassed that I'm always there alone. Like..."oh, that girl is back. Alone, again."

In their defense, I've been there 6 times in 9 days. It's nice to have a pleasant rapport with people I see somewhat frequently. I just hate always being there on my own.

(The Enzian is an independent, nonprofit, café movie theater that shows foreign, independent and documentary films. It's set up with tables and a waitstaff, they serve food and drinks...the french dip is ridiculously good. It's awesome, I love it...but I'm always sitting at a table for two...all by myself.)

Second, Nathan Fillion was on "Ellen" today and he was so fabulous and charming and told an amazing story about how he acquired a cat and I adore him. SO glad he's joined the cast of "Desperate Housewives" and when I get a free 24 hours of my life, I need to watch "Firefly."

Third, I still enjoy "Kid Nation," as a partially guilty pleasure. It's just so good.

----

This afternoon, my roommate Jane and I worked out (I know, right?) at the fitness room in the office. Basically, I walked on a treadmill for an hour. It was kind boring, but did feel good.

And tonight, Anna and I are probably seeing a movie. I'm a little nervous that she'll want to see something that a) is crappy or b) I've already seen...but I'm sure I'll agree with anything she wants.

EDIT: The movie fell through, and instead, I was dragged off to a bar. It was pretty crappy (very crowded, smelly, with a wet floor). And I wasn't drinking because I didn't have the cash, so I couldn't enjoy that part of it, and I never loosened up enough to dance. Overall, I really shouldn't have gone, but I felt bad making Anna go alone. It could have been worse, though, and once we got outside, things looked up. Except the guys she was meeting were kinda total jerks. Every once in a while they would say something that made me cringe and want to get the hell away from them before they got themselves into a fight. Eh, what's done is done.

----

Finally, I just got off the phone after a 1 hour and 20 minute conversation with Candace, which was fabulous. I'm pretty sure that's about 7000 times longer than any other phone call I've had with Candace, so it was nice that it flowed so well.

AND! I now have a general plan to visit her in NYC over winter break!!! I'm SO SUPER excited! The Met! The MoMA! Broadway! And a free place to stay. I am SO there.

Also, seeing Sydney White today was like a visual sex-fest.

First, there was a preview for Atonement and I was so excited, I may have done a combination gasp-squeal. Most of the audience was ogling the fair James McAvoy, and while he is rather dishy...I only have eyes for one. *swoon*

Directly after, there was the Elizabeth: The Golden Age preview, and my uterus jumped for joy at the site of that testosterone-driven hunk of a man, Clive Owen. That curly hair and that little beard and he's just walking sex.

Well, then there was the actual movie. And I just love Amanda Bynes so very much. She's so cute, and sweet, and her characters are always so genuinely good. You can't help but love her quirkiness.

The "I'm a dork" part at the end reminded me of In & Out. *Snort*

It was really an endearing movie, and I'll own it and watch it over and over and over again (just like What a Girl Wants and She's the Man).

Hollywood eye candy. You gotta love it.

-----

In other news, there were the most annoying women behind me at the movie today. I should have seen it coming as they gabbed all the way through the previews. Then, one woman came in late, right during the opening credits, and her first comment was, "I don't even know what this movie is about," which spawned a full minute of at least three of them throwing out major plot points. You know what else would have helped her figure out what the movie is about? Shutting the fuck up and letting her WATCH THE MOVIE! Then....THEN! They decided to see how many of the seven dwarfs they could name!

The talking continued through many major moments and was much more than just, "oh, that's funny," or anything like that. At one point, Sydney is introducing all of the boys in her house and after each one, they practically shouted out the corresponding dwarf!

Oh god, it might have been worse that the two chicks who giggled and rattled on in Spanish throughout Babel. Or the fucking teenagers in Blood and Chocolate who held cell phone conversations, then proceeded to yell back and forth things like "shut up," "YOU shut up," and "shut the FUCK up!"

It was definitely in my top three "worst movie experiences ever."

*breathe*

Now that that's out of the way...

My roommates' parents (the Russians) are in town. I love them, they are hilarious. There's a lot of Russian tossed around that I don't understand, but some of it I can catch the gist of.

With them, they brought two dogs (an ugly but lovable little pomeranian and something that resembles a small version of an Australian Shepherd...aka Allie's dog, Bailey), so that's amusing.

Also, two gallons of paint, so tonight, we all painted the living room a dark-ish brown (it was described to me as "Coach brown"...the darker, logo brown, not the lighter, canvas-y brown). It looks pretty good, but it doesn't go as well with the furniture a they say it does. It will take getting used to, but it's nice to have it painted. White walls can drive a woman insane. My back aches a little already, and I expect tomorrow will feel stiff.

I swear there was something else, but now I have plumb forgot. I have to wake up early (the first movie is at 10:30, so I have to leave at 9:30-ish), so I'm going to read a chapter of "Emma" (it's taking too long just reading before/between classes...I need to read at home, too), then I'm going to bed.

Bonne nuit, mes petits.

I need to work on time management.

I should be studying for
