For the first time since probably sophomore year of high school (so...7 years?) I left my place of residence without ANY makeup.
No foundation, no powder, and (most shocking of all), no eyeliner.
Whoa.
(To put it in perspective, I don't even take out the trash or walk across the parking lot to get the mail without putting on foundation and eyeliner.)
I'm so Tilda Swinton. ;-)
Additionally, I went out in public without a hoodie over the tank top I'm wearing. Bare arms outside...so not me.
Granted, I was just going to the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market to return a couple Redbox DVDs and get some dinner via drive-thru.
Which brings me to my next talking point...I love the Redbox. I had a promo code for a free rental, so yesterday I went and rented The Golden Compass (about which I expressed my disappointment earlier) and Cloverfield (which I felt was ridiculously good in many ways...mostly in filmmaker-y creativity).
Both movies cost me a total of $1.07.
Perfect.
And as a final note: I'm having my weekly "why the fuck is everything on at 9pm on a Thursday night?" dilemma. My TiVo is currently recording "CSI" and "Grey's Anatomy."
And I know I should be grateful that it can record two shows at once. Except that I'm missing out on "The Office"/"30 Rock" AND "Don't Forget the Lyrics" featuring Bret Michaels.
Boo.
Apparently, my TiVo needs to be able to record 4 shows at once. Damn you Thursday night TV!!!

The "CSI" Thanksgiving episode is (was) SUPER entertaining. I enjoy Hodges' game immensely.
PS - I'm so all about Wendy taking the CSI field test. (Especially since I don't approve of them bringing in a new replacement for Sara, so promoting within is good with me.)
I also wouldn't be opposed to her dating Hodges. There's definitely something there. Even if he finds her clumsy and buxom (or maybe because he finds her clumsy and buxom...).

I'm more than a little pissed at CBS right now.
Jorja Fox is leaving "CSI" in November. It's mostly due to money issues and upsets me so very much.
I love Sara. :-(
They're already planting the seed that she's off the show (she and Gil can't work together because they're in a relationship and thus, she'll be moving to the "swing shift"), and it's making me bitter and angry. Plus, the end of Thursday's episode when she's the only one not in a go-kart made me really sad.
The show doesn't work when they get rid of people, or redistribute and make half of them work the day shift (though the Catherine + Nick/Warrick themes were excellent during that season). I'm nervous for how the show will cope. They better not try to bring in someone new. That only works for lab technicians and cops (like Hodges, Archie, and Sofia...all of whom kick ass). I don't think I could handle a new CSI.
So BOO CBS!
If I didn't like "How I Met Your Mother" so much, I'd swear you off completely!

In an unrelated note to Zoe:
I was right about Jason Schwartzman. His mother, Talia Shire, was born Talia Coppola. She changed her name upon marrying David Shire in 1970. They divorced and she married Jack Schwartzman in 1980 (and remained married to him until his death in 1994).
So it was his mother who had the Coppola name. And "Schwartzman" was not arbitrarily chosen (like "Cage"). :-p

So I watched the season premieres of "CSI," "Chuck," "Desperate Housewives," and "Brothers & Sisters."
All were absolutely wonderful. And three of the four had me in tears...huh.
I almost had a heart attack watching "CSI," but of course everything worked out well in the end. Gil + Sara = OTP. (Time I cried: Sara opening her eyes to see Gil sitting beside her on the helicopter.)
"Chuck" was highly entertaining and very well done. Captain Awesome was the best thing ever and it was just very well done. I'm excited to see the next episode.
"Desperate Housewives" was, as always, crazy. I'm super excited that Nate Fillion has joined the cast and hopefully he'll last longer than the Applewhites. I'm not holding my breath, because I think the point is that no one stays on Wisteria Lane for long...or at least not when they are hiding a deep, dark secret. I figure he has at least 9-12 episodes, if not an entire season. (Time I cried: Lynette revealing her cancer and the women vowing not to keep secrets any longer.)
As usual, I enjoyed the hectic melodrama of the Walkers on "Brothers & Sisters." I thought it was really creative to do the voiceover/recaps of what everyone was doing over the summer through a video message from Nora to Justin. Similarly, having Rebecca give her analysis of the family at the end was beautiful and profound. (Time I cried: Rebecca's video message when she points out each character's greatest good and greatest flaw, which were generally the same.)
So that was all well and good.
Then I spent about a half hour pounding out an email to my mom. I haven't yet told her about the weekend events, so I tried to make it as nonchalant and fact-oriented as possible. She freaks out over everything, so I know this will get her in a tizzy, thinking the worst about something that isn't that big of a deal. I really don't want her to worry about me...for one thing, it means she will start calling more.
I'm not sending the email until she's at work tomorrow. Monday mornings are hard enough, I don't want to distract her with that.
