Because sometimes the Oscar hype gets overwhelming, it's nice to step back and get some perspective.

These films were all nominated for Best Picture, but didn't win it:
- It's a Wonderful Life
- Citizen Kane
- The Wizard of Oz
- Shawshank Redemption
- Pulp Fiction
- Goodfellas
- Taxi Driver
- Raging Bull
- L.A. Confidential
- Apocalypse Now
- Star Wars
- The Philadelphia Story
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- Chinatown
- The Graduate
- 12 Angry Men

(I totally own 7 of them on DVD. Cookie to whoever can guess...let's say 5 of the 7 correctly!)

Glenda is better than Glinda
My guess: It's A Wonderful Life, The Graduate, 12 Angry Men, Chinatown, Shawshank.

Do I get a cookie?

By the way, I've been racking my brain and I still can't ID who this person in your icon is. Who's it??

Close but no cigar. I won't tell you which were right and which were wrong, in case others want to play.

Good try though!

And the icon is writer/director Alexander Paine (Citizen Ruth, About Schmitt, Sideways) and ex-husband to Sandra Oh. He's a cutie, in that very Greek way, n'est pas?

Bah humbug to you and your cookie.

And that is so not how I pictured Paine...

Re: Glenda is better than Glinda
It's actually kind of an odd picture of him...if you do a Google image search, you'll see more true-to-life pictures.

And you can have a cookie for participating. I appreciate you even playing my little game!
